There is growing evidence that transnational oil companies are accepting extra-judicial killings and other human rights abuses as just another cost of doing business in Nigeria. On at least two occasions Chevron itself has admitted it provided equipment which was used by Nigerian security forces who then proceeded to massacre dozens of civilians.
