About SEEN's Activist NetworkToday, government-financed development banks and aid agencies are spending vast sums of taxpayer money each year on oil, gas and coal projects in countries around the world. Timely, accurate information on how our taxes are fueling climate change and undermining democracy in other countries is scarce in donor countries. The voices of resistance in loan recipient countries are, in too many cases, silenced. Local activists who do speak out against these projects often do so at great personal risk. When they challenge the projects, their pleas rarely reach the people in wealthy Northern countries and the activists -- you -- who are their logical allies. The Sustainable Energy and Economy Network (SEEN) provides a venue for this information access and activist networking between North and South, East and West. We supply concerned people like you with the powerful ammunition necessary to create accountability among our elected government officials -- information. Timely action alerts will be released on a regular basis giving you early warnings of projects in the "pipeline" at various publicly financed institutions. We also will ask that you write letters to key officials at various institutions. Please sign up! SEEN aims to support positive
activism to protect our planet, making it as easy as possible for
you to make a difference. So, when you join our Activist Network,
we will ask you to do only as much as you have time for. Please join
us! We get results!
